The average pregnancy lasts approximately 40 weeks. Throughout the pregnancy, a woman goes through multiple changes, including physical, mental, and emotional.

Women usually experience fatigue and nausea in the first trimester due to lower blood pressure and hormonal changes. In the second trimester, these symptoms subside, and energy levels increase.

Due to these changes, a woman usually experiences behavioral changes while pregnant. In this article, we'll look at some normal behavioral changes women experience and how to deal with them.

1. Drastic Mood Swings

Pregnancy can trigger a range of hormones, including progesterone and estrogen. This can lead to women experiencing mood swings. They may get irritated, experience anger, or even want to cry. These changes are normal and are experienced by most women during pregnancy.

2. Unusual Cravings

Another common behavioral change women experience is craving different kinds of foods at unusual hours. Meat and ice cream are common foods women commonly crave during pregnancies. This is because a woman needs additional nutrients while pregnant, and the brain sends signals to the body that can present as a craving for their favorite foods.

Confirm with the doctor before consuming any foods in excess because maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy is critical. Usually, there's no harm in eating your favorite foods in controlled amounts to satisfy your craving.

3. Emotional Changes

Women will experience emotional changes during pregnancy. This can cause behavioral changes like not being interested in things she usually liked. Anxiety is also common in pregnant women, which is understandable given how much is riding on her pregnancy.

4. Exhaustion

Pregnancy can take a toll on women because their body goes through multiple changes. Feet can get swollen, backaches are common, stretch marks start to develop. All of these things can lead to exhaustion, both physical and mental. A woman might feel tired and not feel like doing anything even after getting adequate rest and sleep.

5. Nesting Instincts

A pregnant woman may feel a strong instinct to prepare the home for the baby, which can lead to cleaning the cupboard, scrubbing the walls, decorating the home, setting up furniture and more. These instincts usually kick in in the last trimester.
